Abstract
119,473. Hagmann, O. Sept. 26, 1917, [Convention date]. Roller mills. - In automatic feed-hoppers for rollermills, of the kind in which a pivoted feed-gate, co-operating with a feed-roller, is controlled by the pressure of the material in the hopper, the sensitiveness is increased by arranging the gate 5 in an inclined position and with the pivots 6 near the bottom so that the weight, as well as the lateral pressure, of the material is effective to open the gate. When the material rises above the plane a, the gate is opened, the opening depending on the amount of material present. The gate is moved into the closed position by an adjustable spring 7 which is secured to an arm 9 on the gate.
