Abstract

1,192,181. Boilers; burners; space heating radiators. SERVOTOMIC Ltd. 11 Aug., 1967 [11 Aug., 1966], No. 35954/66. Headings F4A, F4S and F4T. A combined radiator and liquid heater comprises two hollow liquid containing panels 12, 13, defining with walls 14 a combustion chamber at the lower end of which is mounted a burner 15, a V-shaped baffle 24 extending over substantially the whole length of the chamber to direct combustion products against the panels 12, 13, the baffle 24 being surmounted by an upwardly open channel 25 preventing recirculation of combustion products and guiding them towards an outlet flue 23. Secondary baffles 26a, 27a, form troughs which collect combustion gases recirculating downwards and re-direct them upwards whilst a tertiary baffle 32 guides combustion air from an inlet 22 to the far end of the burner where the pilot jet 21 is retracted, a bent-in end portion 33 shielding the flame from the air draught. The radiator is surrounded by a casing 10 having recesses 42, 43, at each end whereby the radiator can be mounted with the inlet and outlet 22, 23, at either left or right hand side.
