1,190,413. Amidines. WELLCOME FOUNDATION Ltd., (Burroughs Wellcome & Co. (U.S.A.) Inc.). 8 May, 1968 [17 May, 1967; 1 Feb., 1968], Nos. 22827/67 and 5307/68. Addition to 1,074,102. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of Formula I in which R and R<SP>1</SP> are the same and represent propyl or butyl and R<SP>11</SP> is heptyl, octyl, nonyl, decyl, undecyl, dodecyl or tridecyl and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting the corresponding nitrile derivative with either a halomagnesium derivative of an amine HNR(R<SP>1</SP>) or the same amine and aluminium chloride followed by hydrolysis of the product. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound I or its acid addition salt and a suitable excipient, are administered orally and are effective as anthelmintic agents.
