1,189,568. Treating textiles. BRUCKNERTROCKENTECHNIK K. G. 11 Sept., 1968 [27 Sept., 1967], No. 43170/68. Heading D1L. Apparatus for the continuous treatment of a fabric web comprises a liquid permeable endless belt 2, means 8 for feeding a continuous fabric web 1 onto the belt, e.g. in a series of folds, means for passing the belt and web through the nip of at least one, but preferably three squeeze rollers 4, 4', 4" and spray means 9, 9', 9" located upstream and adjacent the nip of each pair of rollers to apply a treatment liquid (e.g. for washing, impregnating or dyeing) to the web as it enters the nip of the rollers. A further spray 20 is located adjacent a feed roller 7 prior to the folding device 8, and also a spray 26 is located adjacent and upstream of the nip of a pair of squeeze rollers 27 subsequent to the web leaving the belt 2. A series of vessels 10-13 located beneath the belt 2 collect the surplus liquid and recycle it in a counter flow direction, viz., vessel 13 to spray 9', vessel 12 to spray 9, vessel 11 to spray 20, vessel 10 via a purifier to sprays 9" and 26. In alternative embodiments fold device 8 may be dispensed with and the web fed to the conveyor at a different speed relative to the conveyor, or the conveyor may be moved intermittently whilst the web feeds continuously.
