Abstract

1,188,087. Towelling. HEBERLEIN & CO. A.G. 17 April, 1968 [2 June, 1967; 9 Aug., 1967; 28 Nov., 1967], No. 18216/68. Heading D1K. A weft pile terry fabric is woven with warp yarns spaced apart from 2mm to 5mm and with elastic weft threads which are woven under tension and subsequently contract to form the pile loops. The warp yarns may be bundles of from 2 to 10 yarns of cotton, other vegetable, animal or synthetic fibres. The weft yarns may be of high twist nylon, two such yarns plied together, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, polypropylene, cotton, worsted or other vegetable or animal fibres. To ensure weftwise contraction the fabric may be subsequently treated with hot water or steam.
