Abstract

1,184,853. Knitting-machines. W I L D T MELLOR BROMLEY Ltd. 10 Dec., 1968 [24 Jan., 1968], No. 3800/68. Heading D1C. In a circular multifeed machine having banks of selectors at each feed the selectors are returned to inoperative position before reselection by a cam fixed to the cylinder and engaging their inner ends. The selectors may be slidably or pivotably mounted and selected electrically or by a punched tape. In the particular embodiment selector slides 15 in each bank are guided by combs 14, and moved by pivoted arms 16. The arms are spring controlled so that projections 23 engage a punched tape 17. The ends 16d of selected and unselected arms lie in two groups depending on whether the projections engage a hole or not. An oscillating arm 24 engages one group swinging the arms 16 to advance the selectors. The selectors are held 'n operative or inoperative positions by a catch 41 engaging cuts-out 42, 43. The cam (40 figs. 2, 3 not shown) engaging the selectors is fixed in a recess devoid of tricks and extends the full height of the bank.
