Abstract

1,177,424. Knitting-machines. BENTLEY MACHINE DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. 15 July, 1968 [22 July, 1967], No. 33820/67. Heading D1C. Following the raising of those selector instruments 4 by cams P1 . . . P6, one at each station, due to their remaining in a position projecting from their tricks after selection by selector cams SC, the selectors which have been depressed within their tricks by the selector cams SC are immediately reprojected prior to the raised selectors being returned to their original low level. Consequently the raised selectors on return to their original low level as well as the other selectors are in a projected position ready for immediate reselection by a further bank of selector cams at the next station. Selection between stations can be achieved over a shorter distance whereby more space, is available around the machine. The invention is described in connection with a six feeder machine in which pivotal selectors 4 having frangible butts are selectivelyactuated by selector cams SC. To enable the lower ends of those selectors which have been depressed to miss the raising cam to be projected outwardly the following portion of each cam P1 . . . P6 is recessed or relieved as at 8.
