Abstract
1,184,157. Door fastenings. BLAKDALE PRODUCTS Ltd. 4 Sept., 1968, No. 42109/68. Heading E2A. In a door fastening of the kind comprising a door-mounted rotary plate 12 operating two or more door-mounted sliding bolts 16, 17 through pivotal connections 18, 19, the rotary plate is contained within a housing 2, secured to a sheet metal door panel 1, and has a non- circular hole for reception of the shank 5 of a cast metal handle, and the pins forming the pivotal connections 18, 19 are extended to engage in arcuate slots 23, 24 in the housing 2, such that in the absence of the handle the plate 12 is maintained with its non-circular aperture in alignment with handle-receiving apertures in the housing 2 and panel 1. This is said to facilitate painting of the assembly in the absence of the handle which is chromium plated. A lock-nut 8 secures the shank 5 against withdrawal. The plate 12 is provided both with a bolt end 11 and a recess 13 for receiving the tongue of a key-operated lock (not shown). The bolts 16, 17 are slidable in slots both in the housing and in flanges of the door.
