1499831 Espagnolette locks CROMPTON NETTLEFORD STENMAN Ltd 27 March 1975 [27 March 1974] 13556/74 Heading E2A A window casement or door includes an espagnolette lock comprising: two or more fasteners, e.g. cog-driven rotating bolts 11, 12, recessed into the casement or door at different points around the edges of the casement or door; an actuating member, e.g. a handle 20, mounted on the casement or door; and an endless polymeric belt 17 interconnecting the fastening members and the actuating member. From the handle 20 extends a spindle 21 which engages a socket of a cog engaging teeth on the belt. the cog may be associated with a rotating bolt. The bolts 11 at the corners of the casement or door may be replaced by idler cogs.
