Abstract

1,183,877. Feeding sheets. A. B. DICK CO. 3 Aug., 1967 [26 April, 1967], No. 35700/67. Heading B8R. Sheets are separated from the top of a stack by a pair of elastomeric gripper rollers 26, 28, and an intervening roller 32 co-operating with a non-rotatable member 50, the rollers 26, 28 being shaped as shown in Fig. 2, the teeth 84 being resilient so as to accommodate variation in the thickness or function of the sheet. The separated sheets are passed to rollers 68, 70 moving at a higher speed than the rollers 26, 28, 32 and the construction of the wheels 26, 28 allows the sheet to be drawn forwards from the rollers 26, 28 owing to the speed change. The member 50 is mounted on a frame 52 pivoted to a block 62 fixed to the underside of a feed table, through a slot in which the member 50 projects to a height adjustable by a screw 64. The feed table has adjustable side walls to guide the stack. The rollers 68, 70 act in conjunction with a sheet guide assembly including an upper guide 74 and a lower guide 76, the form being pivotable by an arm 78 to move the rollers 68 away from or into contact with the rollers 70.
