[Also in Division C7] A copper-base alloy containing Fe 0À5-4 and possibly other elements, particularly V, Cr, Mo, Si Si # Sn, Ti, Al, As, # 0À01-1 each Sb, Nb, Co, Ta# Zn -0À3 Pb -0À05 Mn -0À01 Ni -0À01 P 0À015-0À04 is held at a temperature above 1500‹ F. for at least 15 minutes, hot rolled, cold rolled at least 20% and annealed at 800‹ F. to 1200‹ F. for at least 15 minutes to precipitate at least 50% of the iron in the magnetic body-centred cubic, alpha form. The initial treatment above 1500‹ F. may be followed immediately by hot-rolling from that temperature. Enhanced corrosion resistance is said to result from the process.
