Abstract

1,181,661. Dock leveller. G. HUNTER (LONDON) Ltd. 7 March, 1967 [7 March, 1966; 9 May, 1966], Nos. 9776/66 and 20461/66. Heading B8E. A loading dock leveller having a platform 10 pivoted at 13 and raisable by a lever 22 has a lip 40 which is spring urged to extend as the platform rises but is held retracted by a latch which is released as the platform rises. The platform has a counterweight 28 and is supported in a level position by articulated legs 18, 20. The lip 40 is spring urged to its extended position but is held retracted when the platform is level by a latch. To operate the dock the lever 22 is raised to the position 22a and then depressed to raise the platform. As the platform rises the legs 20 leave the ground allowing a spring 24 to collapse them to the position 20a while the lip retaining catch is released allowing the lip 40 to be extended by its springs. The platform is then allowed to fall on to the platform of a vehicle the legs 20 collapsing completely.
