Abstract

The container of steel or other material is mounted on a lorry with a flat base and is discreet from the structure of the lorry. If the container is to be unloaded, it is first rolled backwards off the platform, by the hydraulically operated arm until the rear legs (17) can be unfolded to rest on the ground. The rear end of the lorry is raised on the tail roller so that the container rear legs can be clear of the ground when being rigged. The lorry back on its four wheels moves forward and the front end of the container is lifted by the lifting arm, which reverses until the container front legs can be lowered. The lifting arm is unhooked and the lorry driven away. Loading the container is achieved by reversing the sequence.
