Abstract

1,180,039. Yarn cutters. LA TELEMACANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. 8 Sept., 1967 [5 May, 1967], No. 41247/67. Heading DID. A device for causing cutting of yarn at the entrance to a textile machine when yarn breakage occurs within the machine comprises an electromagnetic assembly 4, 5'having its armature 6 fitted with a striker 8 having a chamfered edge 8a cooperable with a fixed anvil 9, the coil 4 being connected via switch 11, closable by the absence of tension in the yarn due to breakage, to the terminals of a capacitor 3 energisable from a battery 1. The capacitor is chargeable through a resistor 2 of such a value that the armature is held in its attracted position. A second striker 21b which cooperates with a soft anvil 27 may be provided in addition to the first striker 21a (Fig. 6) for gripping the severed end of the yarn. The yarn 33 is guided in V-shaped notches 32 to pass over the anvils.
