Abstract

1,178,893. Rotary piston machines. DANFOSS A.S. Oct. 24, 1967 [Nov.10, 1966], No.48305/67. Heading F1F. A rotary piston pump or motor comprising a main shaft 27, an inlet port 12, a discharge port 13, a fixed internally-toothed ring gear 1 and a meshing inner gear 2 with one less tooth, includes a rotary cylindrical valve slide which is made in two parts 20, 21 provided with control passages 22, 23 respectively and positioned co-axially with, and rotatable at the same speed as the main shaft 27 with one part 20 positioned on one side of the gears to control flow from the inlet port to spaces between the teeth of the ring gear and the other part 21 positioned on the other side of the gears to control flow from the spaces between the teeth of the ring gear to the discharge port. Swivelling shafts 29, 33 each have one end connected by splines 30 to the inner gear 2 and the other end connected by splines to bushes 24, 25 which are secured to the parts 20, 21 respectively with the bush 24 secured to or forming part of the main shaft 27. The ports 12, 13 communicate respectively through annular distribution passages 18, 19 and ports 5, 6 in fixed plates 3, 4, one on either side of the gears, with the spaces between the gears.
