Abstract

1400108 Rotary positive-displacement fluid-machines ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 24 April 1973 [29 April 1972] 19281/73 Heading F1F In a gerotor-type hydraulic pump, or motor, a rotary valve 13 controlling the flow of fluid to and from chambers 6 between a fixed internallytoothed ring 1 and a planetary externally-toothed gear 5 has open-ended axial grooves 17 communicating directly with said chambers, the gear being coupled to an input, or output, shaft 8 by a shaft 7 and universal joints, and the valve being either integrated with the shaft 8 or connected to the latter by e.g. a pin 14. The open ends 18 of the grooves may be enlarged, as shown. The universal joints may comprise pins 9, 10; and to compensate for any lack of alignment between the valve and the shaft 8 the pin 14 slides in a radial and axial slot in said shaft. Inlet and outlet connections 19, 20 communicate with apertures 21, 22, respectively, through channels 23, 24, these apertures co-operating with the grooves.
