Limbs, artificial.-Operating means for returning the lower or calf member of a leg to supporting position after having been moved backwards, comprises a flexible member 9 secured to the lower member 5 at a point 10 below the knee joint 6 and passing over a fixed pulley 11 on the upper member 7 beneath the joint, and round a pulley 12 mounted on a movable block 13 and secured at a point 14 on the upper member below the joint, but above the point 10. The pulley-block 13 is supported and operated by a flexible member 15 passing round pulleys 17 and connected to harness on the shoulders or other part of the wearer,
