Abstract

119,652. Rice, M. E. Sept. 6, 1917, [Convention date]. Limbs, artificial.-A leg is provided with a knee-joint comprising members 3 secured to the lower limb having curved arms 4 projecting therefrom which are a'so secured to the lower limb by stays 5. The pivot 6 of the joint extends through the numbers 3 or there may be a separate pivot for each side. Straps 10 connected to harness are attached to buttons 9 on the arms for operating the leg. The motion of the lower part 2 is limited by stops 12 of leather &c. on the thigh member which abut against the arms 4.
