Abstract

1,175,332. Valves. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. 4 March, 1968 [11 March, 1967], No. 10311/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] A poppet valve 4 is rotated during closing by a cap 9 connected to the valve stem through a universal joint 10 and through a free wheel device 11 of a member 13 engaging an inclined slot 14 in a stationary member 15. Movement of member 13 in the slot 14 as the valve closes produces rotation of the valve whereas movement in the opposite direction as the valve opens does not transmit rotation to the valve because of the free wheel 11. The inclination of the slot 14 in relation to the valve axis is adjustable manually by a lever 16.
