A jack plug for connecting two sockets (such as described in Specification 934,627) comprises two coaxial metallic contacts 11, 12 secured on insulating casing 13 which contains a diode 15 having connections to the metallic ends 21, 22 of the casing. The casing may comprise a ceramic holder 14, with gold layers 20 connecting the diode to the ends 21, 22 and a surrounding insulating layer such as epoxy resins.
