[Also in Division F2] In a heat exchanger comprising glass tubes 3 and metal, e.g. steel, tube plates 1, bushes 4 of glass fibre are disposed between the tubes and walls of the apertures 2 in the plates, a layer 5 of corrosion resistant material, such as a modified sodium silicate, being applied to the bushes or around the walls of the apertures.
