Abstract

A turbulator element 5 for securing, as by brazing, to the inner surfaces of the walls of a heat exchange duct, is made of a flat metal sheet e.g. aluminium alloy, in which slots 6 are made by stamping after which the strip is subjected to a bending operation for forming longitudinal, substantially parallel corrugations. The slots may extend obliquely or transversely relative to the longitudinal axis of the corrugations and reduce capillary action when the elements are immersed in a molten flux bath during manufacture of the exchanger.
