1,169,393. Stainless steel. UGINE KUHL- MANN. Jan.13, 1967 [Jan.13, 1966; Dec.14, 1966; Dec.15, 1966; Dec.16, 1966], No.2039/67. Heading C7A. An austenitic stainless steel comprises:- C not more than 0À175% Si not more than 1% Cr 15-20% Ni 4-16% Mn 1-12% W 1-6% at least {Mo 0-4% one Cu 0-4% N not less that 0À15% V not less than 1À2 times the nitrogen content but V+N must be less than 0À65% Nb 0-2% B 0À001-0À005% the balance, apart from impurities, being iron. The steels may be hot worked, cold worked and hypertempered at 970-1000‹ C., and maybe used for superheater tubes I. C. engine valves, turbine blades and jet engine parts.
