Abstract

1,168,497. Resiliently mounted seats. BOSTROM MFG. CO. Ltd. 18 June, 1968 [4 July, 1967], No. 30711/67. Headings A4J and A4U. In a resiliently mounted vehicle seat, having seat and back pans 14 and 24 pivotally interconnected and the latter supported, from a fixed cross bar 31, by tension springs (32), resilient bushings (28) slidably and pivotally connect pan 24 to cross bar 31, so that fore-and-aft movement of parts 14 and 15 adjusts the inclination of pan 24. The front of pan 14 is pivotally mounted on studs (18) on the cross member 17 of slidable U-shaped frame 15. The fore-and-aft adjustment of frame 15 is controlled by pins and slots 21, 22 and clamp nut 23. Rods 27 are fixed to the rear of pan 24 and slide through the resilient bushings (28). A shock absorber (33) is associated with tension springs (32). In another form, the fore-and-aft adjustment of the slidable frame and seat pan is effected by rotating screw-threaded shaft (120, Figs. 5-7, not shown). The inclination of the back pan may, additionally, be independently varied by moving a slotted bar (140) longitudinally.
