Abstract
1,167,367. Two-stroke engines. BURMEISTER & WAIN'S MASKIN-OG SKIBSBYGGERRI A.S. Nov.4, 1966 [Nov.9, 1965], No.49614/66. Heading F1B. The cylinders of a 10 cylinder in-line two stroke engine are arranged in two groups of five cylinders numbered 1 to 10, the angular differences between the cranks of the cylinders within each group being 72 degrees, and the firing order is 1-8-4-9-2-7-3-10-5-6 (or the reverse), the angular difference between the cranks for the cylinders 5, 6 being 39 degrees Œ 1¢ degrees. By this means the firing intervals are not uniform, being for example 39 degrees Œ 1¢ degrees between cylinders 1 and 8 and 33 degrees Œ 1¢ degrees between cylinders 8 and 4 and similarly for the remaining cylinders, and out of balance forces are reduced.
