Abstract

1,162,884. Folding tables. P. KLITI. 1 May, 1968 [3 Feb., 1967], No. 5443/67. Heading A4H. Each U-shaped leg unit of a table is pivoted to the table top and is held in the in use position by a bearer portion of the leg unit engaging in a hooked end of a blade spring (13, Fig. 10) or in a channel 5d of a retaining member hinged to the top and urged towards the top by a coiled spring 6. The bearer portion is either a cranked portion 4 of the base of the U-shaped leg unit or is a cross-bar (11, Fig. 7) bridging the legs. The legs 1 are splayed and are offset from the bearer portion so that when the legs are folded parallel to the table top they are spaced therefrom. The ends of the legs may bear frictionally against the side rails 2b of the table top underframe.
