Abstract

1,161,952. Weighing apparatus. MERRICK SCALE MFG. CO. 9 Oct., 1967, No. 46042/67. Heading G4H. An endless conveyer 18 is supported by idlers 23 mounted adjacent the pivoted end of a platform 24 which is supported by springs 30 at its other end so as to oscillate with a frequency dependent on the load, the oscillations being detected and operating a counter. Link 41 attached to platform 24 reciprocates a shaft 45 which is coupled by link 59 and plate 62 to a brake mechanism 48 serving to sustain the oscillations. Shaft 45 carries a ferro-magnetic disc with a cut-out which induces pulses in a co-operating coil. The counter coupled to the coil is simultaneously counted down by a pulse generator whose frequency is adjusted to the frequency of platform 24 when there is no load on the conveyer. Spring 86 linearizes the loadfrequency response.
