Abstract

1,230,243. Measuring fluid-flow; weighing apparatus. KINGMANN-WHITE, Inc. Oct. 6, 1969 [Oct.28, 1968; Sept.11, 1969 No.48962/69. Headings G1R and G1W. In a particulate material mass rate of flow meter particulate material is fed by a motor driven endless belt 14 into a hopper 12, having a slide 20 vibrated by element 15, on to a conical or multisided baffle 24, supported by a cylindrical or multisided vertical guide 28, and then on to a conical sensor 41, shaped as a cone, multi-sided pyramid or a double sided ridge, supported by an upwardly spring-biased rod 46 attached to a transducer 54 which produces a signal that is a measure of the axial movement of the sensor 41 and the mass rate of flow of the material. The transducer 54 may be connected to the motor driven belt 14 and the element 15 to control the flow-rate. The transducer 54 may also be connected to a totalizer which integrates the output signal with time to produce a measure of the total mass flow. (For Figure see next page)
