Abstract

1281036 Weighing apparatus R J RICGIARDI 4 Oct 1969 48855/69 Heading G1W Apparatus for delivering material at a predetermined rate comprises an endless conveyor belt 20 mounted below the outlet 16 of a material storage hopper 12 and provided with a weight sensing device 22 which adjusts the feed to the conveyor belt 20 in accordance with the instantaneous load thereon. The conveyor belt 20 which is driven at constant speed by on motor is mounted on one end of a balance beam 29 and guided for vertical movement by links 50, 54, the beam being provided with a slideable counterbalance weight 74 and arranged to bear on a fluid dashpot 76 and a load cell 22 which may be a differential transformer. The load cell provides weight signals to actuate a rate of flow meter 80, a totalizer 90 and, in conjunction with a pre-setting device 84, a motor 86 which controls the outlet 16 of the hopper 12.
