Abstract

1419868 Measuring fluid-flow F K NUGENT and C W NUGENT 30 Aug 1974 [31 May 1973] 26103/73 Heading G1R In a rate of flow apparatus material such as a fluid, powder or granular material, is directed from a flow guide 10 on to an inclined surface 6 attached to arms 5 suspended from shafts 3 and the deflection of the arms 5 from the vertical gives an indication of the flow rate. One of the shafts 3 extends into a device of which provides an indication of the angular position of the shaft 3. The device 9 may comprise a pair of calipers one arm moving with the shaft 3 relative to the other arm and means provided to give an electrical output depending on the position of the arms. The sensitivity of the apparatus may be determined by the strength of a spring 8.
