Abstract

1279704 Weighing apparatus ELECTROTECHNIC & CHEMICAL ENG S A 8 Aug 1969 [20 Aug 1969] 39868/69 Headings G1N and G1W A weighing apparatus comprises a balance beam 4 Fig. 1 carrying a bucket 7 at one end, which can be filled via chute 2 and emptied via chute 3, and is counter-balanced by fixed weights in a container 12. Any difference produces a displacement of the beam which is indicated by a pointer 13 and balance is restored electromagnetically by current in a fixed coil 15 cooperating with an armature 16 attached to container 12, the energizing current being shown on an indicator. The condition of the beam 4 is sensed by three fixed detectors. In a modification the balancing weights in a fixed container 12 are replaced by a movable counter-balance weight Fig. 2 (not shown). The apparatus is housed in a sealed housing 1 the internal pressure of which may be reduced.
