Abstract
1,160,109. Hatch covers. ASSOCIATED CARGO GEAR A.B. 6 Dec., 1967, No. 55417/67. Heading B7S. [Also in Division E2]. In a hatch cover comprising four sections 11, 12, 13, 14 foldable in pairs, a first pair of sections 11, 12 is hingedly connected at 16 to a transverse side of the coaming 10, the second pair of sections 13, 14 is hingedly connected at 22 to a pair of beams extending from the same transverse side of the coaming and each of the beams is composed of two parts 18, 19 hinged together at 21. Power hinges 15, 17 are operated hydraulically through valves 30, 31 and valve 32 operates locking members 33 built into the sections 11 and 12 to lock them to the beams. The three valves may be interconnected to be moved simultaneously when the hatch opening is to be completely uncovered.
