Abstract

1,157,571. Foundation blocks. DURRANT ACOUSTICS Ltd. 9 May, 1967 [18 May, 1966], No. 21987/66. Heading E1B. A foundation unit for a wall of a building such as an electrical transformer housing, in order to reduce transmission of vibrations therethrough consists of upper and lower concrete blocks A, B which have a layer of foam rubber F disposed therebetween and are held against relative lateral displacement by bolts N. The blocks A, B have co-operating channel and rib members C, D respectively and the bolts N each pass through a flanged bush 2 of soft rubber and engage with a fibre insert M. Blocks of dense rubber span the joints underneath adjacent members A, see Fig. 1 (not shown).
