Feed-water, supplying a n d controlling. - Apparatus of the type described in Specifications 16097/02 and 108,513, in which a piston-actuated boiler-feed check valve is controlled by a floatactuated auxiliary valve, has the auxiliary valve constructed as a smalldiame.ter piston valve and has a guide for the valve member formed in the block of metal carrying the valve seat. The valve seat F is formed in a block of metal E having a cylindrical part E' adapted to fit in the cover A of the float chamber, and a conical part E<2> ground to fit in the valve chamber H. The seat has a recess f communicating with an external groove E<3> so that, when the valve is open, leakage water entering at J may flow away to the outlet K. The block E is extended upward to form a guard for the valve member, even when the shoulder D<2> formed on the guide member is in engagement with the shoulder e. The guide member has flats D<4> to admit pressure fluid to its upper side.
