Abstract

1,156,928. Rotary offset printing presses. ADAMOVSKE STROJIRNY, NARODNI PODNIK. 18 Nov., 1966 [29 Nov., 1965], No. 51801/66. Heading B6C. In a sheet-fed offset rotary press detection by an electric contact 2 of a fed sheet actuates a three-way electromagnetically controlled valve arrangement 1 whereby the press is set-up for printing in three sequential steps, namely, one, movement of the inking roller into contact with the forme cylinder 26, two, movement of the offset cylinder 25 into printing position with the impression cylinder 27 and, three, adjustment of the offset cylinder 25 into printing position with the forme cylinder. The press is stopped in the reverse order on electrical contact 3 being provided for this purpose whereby when the last sheet passes from the contact 3 or a faulty sheet feed arises the valve arrangement 1 is again actuated. Movement of the offset cylinder is effected by cam, toothed gears and air-pressure means. A manually actuable knob at one end of the shaft of the offset cylinder is provided to control the printing pressure whilst the press is running.
