Abstract

115,582. Davey, H. Oct. 19, 1917. Superheating - chambers heated by combustion gascs.- In a. plant comprising a multiple-expansion engine or turbine, steam from the boiler is passed through a superheater j to the high-pressure element, and through superheaters k, l to the intermediate and lowpressure elements. The exhaust finally passes through a feed water heater m. The superheaters j, k, l and feed-water heater m are internally and externally heated and each consists of a shell with tubes fixed into the end plates. Dampers x, y are provided to prevent the superheaters from being overheated when no steam is passing through them.
