Abstract

1,155,774. Washing machines. SUSPA FEDERUNGSTECHNIK G.m.b.H. 17 July, 1967 [20 July, 1966], No. 32749/67. Heading D1A. The tub and pumping means of a horizontal rotary drum washing machine are mounted in carrying means, braced round the tub, which also carries the driving and pumping means. As shown a one-piece cast saddle 1 has bent over edges A and bearing lugs 2 having respectively apertures 5 and holes 3 to receive the ends of two tension bands 6 extending round the tub and spring legs 9. Motor 8 is connected to lugs 7 on the underside of saddle 1. Legs 9 are elastically secured to lugs 2 and non- rigidly connected to the base plate 19 and shock absorbers 11 are also provided. Tubs of different sizes may be accommodated in the saddle, by the use of wedges. Saddle 1 may be. made up from several pieces Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) and mounted as shown in Fig. 2. In a modification Fig. 7 the saddle comprises cradles 21 pivoted to a central part 20 and having arcuate surfaces to engage tubs of various sizes. The ends 24 of cradles 21 are held adjusted by bolts 25 sliding in arcuate slots 26 in part 20. Part 20 may comprise two webs connected by bolts and spacers, Fig. 10 (not shown). An oscillatory weight may be clamped to the tub by band 6, Fig. 11 (not shown).
