[Also in Divisions B7 and B8] A refuse container comprises a shell 1 and a base 2, which base is movable longitudinally of the container to discharge the same. The shell has a flange 3 at the lower end to prevent the withdrawal of the base through the bottom and means (not shown) whereby the base may be locked in its lower position. In a vehicle seat supported by separate lateral adjustment assemblies, removable transmission rods (21) interconnect the assemblies and ensure that the same movement is applied to both sides of the seat. Each assembly includes a pair of pivoted levers 25, each of independently adjustable inclination, by the action of eccentrically rotated pins 22, 32. The pins 22, 32 are carried on discs 33 and, at the rear, an additional disc (37) co-operates with pin 39 on a spring detent (41) to lift the end (44) of the detent from a notch in co-axial disc (33), thus permitting pin 22 to move the mid-point of rear lever 25 in a circular arc, with respect to frame member 28, while pin 27 rides in a slot (31) in the end of the lever. Pin 32 rides in a slot in the front lever 25. The inclination of the seat back may be varied about a pivotal mounting. A sliding fore and aft adjustment is provided.
