Abstract

1,153,828. Tables. STAPLES & CO. Ltd. and R. G. HEAL. 10 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 17313/67. Heading A4H. A cantilever table comprises a pivoted table top 16 which can be held in adjusted angular position by a conical surface, on a boss 22 on an arm 20 secured to the top, frictionally engaging a conical depression in a collar 23 welded to a horizontal tube 15 of the support structure. Additionally the top can be positively locked in at least one angular position by a projection 21 on the end of the arm 20 engaging a recess in a boss 26 on a vertical tube 12 of the support structure. The boss 22 is clamped to the collar 23 and the projection 21 is moved into the recess in the boss 22 by means of a manually operated screw 24. The support structure comprises a T-shaped base, the cross-arm 27 of which has a stub tube 28 detachably secured inside a vertical tube 11 by a spring urged projection 29 which engages in the end of the leg 31 of the T-shaped base. The two vertical tubes 11, 12 are of square section and are telescopically arranged. A projection 13 in the upper tube 12 engages spaced holes in the lower tube 11 and is withdrawn by a button 14; alternatively a screw is threaded into the lower tube 11 and engages the upper tube 12.
