1,151,366. Pressure-resisting lids. FRIEDRICH UHDE G.m.b.H. 14 July, 1966 [17 July, 1965], No. 31696/66. Heading F2P. A self-sealing lid 1 for a high-pressure vessel is in the form of a spherical dome of which the convex surface faces the interior of the vessel and has a sealing edge in the form of a frustum of a right circular cone the apex of which coincides with the centre of curvature of the dome. A resilient sealing ring 2, against which the sealing edge is pressed by pressure acting on the lid, is supported by a ring 3 subdivided into a plurality of separate sections.
