Abstract

1,148,224. Grippers for lifting plates. HEBEZEUGEWERK TREFFURT VEB. 3 July, 1967, No. 30560/67. Heading B8H. A gripper for lifting sheets, Fig. 1, has a fixed jaw 12, Fig. 3, and a movable jaw 16 which comprises a roller moved up and down an inclined plate 11 by a link 9 and a pivoted toothed sector 3. The latter is turned about its pivot by a lifting chain 25, Fig. 1. Rotating a handle 4, Fig. 1, anticlockwise locks the jaws in the open position by turning levers 10, 13, Fig. 3, overcentre. This rotates a toothed segment 2 clockwise and turns the segment 3 to the jaws open position. A spring 15 biases the roller pair into the closed position.
