Abstract

1,144,753. Collapsible catamaran. P. V. BACHLEY. 16 March, 1966 [17 March, 1965], No. 11558/66. Heading B7A. A collapsible catamaran comprises a first deck 12 having parallel side edges, a pair of elongated pontoons 10 each having a cover forming a second deck 22 and a body 20 on one side of and co-extensive with the second deck, the pontoons 10 being hingedly mounted one to each parallel side edge of the first deck for rotational movement about a longitudinal axis between a floating position and a transport position wherein each second deck 22 is folded over on to the first deck 12. A wheel mounting bracket 31 on each second deck supports a wheel 33 on the side opposite the body 20 of pontoon 10 so that the wheels will be in a downwardly extending transport position when the second decks are folded over on to the first decks.
