905,583. Amphibious vehicles. BUSSING AUTOMOBILWERKE A.G. July 6, 1960 [July 22, 1959], No. 23571/60. Class 113. A land vehicle, e.g. a tracked vehicle, is provided with flaps 3, hinged to it, so that they may be moved outboard to increase the volume and therefore the buoyancy, the flaps 3 are provided with watertight hinges 4 and foldable membranes 5 at adjacent corners. The flaps are moved by pneumatic cylinders connected to stays 6 pivotably connected to the flaps and the vehicle. The stays may have a toggle arrangement. Inflatable tubes may be provided at the outer edges of the flaps.
