Abstract
994,367. Vehicles adapted to float. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DE MATERIAL DE TRANSPORT C.I.M.T.-LORRAINE. Sept. 21, 1961 [Sept. 29, 1960], No. 33850/61. Heading B7A. A vehicle comprises a structure 6 of fluidtight, preferably pliable, material, which may be opened out about the vehicle (as shown) to define a chamber open at its lower part. The structure is opened before the vehicle enters the water by, e.g. jacks, and is joined to the vehicle by a fluid-tight joint 7. The propulsion engine exhaust may be discharged into the chamber, and the land propulsion means, e.g. caterpillar tracks, may be used to propel the vehicle whilst afloat. Two structures may be disposed one on each side of the vehicle. The chamber defined by the structure may be divided into compartments.
