Abstract

1,273,143. Hydrofoil craft. BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP. Ltd. 20 May, 1969 [12 March, 1968], No. 11991/68. Heading B7A. A hydrofoil craft has members 12, 14 carrying hydrofoils 16, 19 and propulsion means 18, and has floats 24; the foils or the floats being raisable and lowerable relatively to the hull 10. In Fig. 1 the floats are carried on links 20, 22 pivotable on the hull and one raised relative to the hull at high speeds, and lowered to support the hull at low speeds. Alternatively the hydrofoils may be on retractable members. The floats may have wheels.
