Abstract

1,144,449. Injector burners. AGA A.B. 17 March, 1966 [24 March, 1965], No. 11686/66. Heading F4T. In an autogenous injector burner wherein oxygen is used as a driving gas, the oxygen passage in nozzle 20 is longer than the axial length of the nozzle allowing damping out of flash-back pressure waves. In the nozzle 20, Fig. 2, an inlet end lid is formed with a throttle 37 and the oxygen passage comprises a spiral tube 38 within the nozzle body 34, said oxygen being delivered to a choke 18. In the injector of Fig. 1 oxygen is supplied to nozzle 20 via conduits 10, 15 and on leaving the nozzle entrains fuel gas, e.g. acetylene, at the outlet from an annular space 16 between nozzle 20 and casing 14. The gases mix in chamber 21 before passing to a burner nozzle 22.
