A burner for fluid fuels such as gas or oil has in a casing 1 a fuel nozzle 2, a mixing tube 3 and an air inlet pipe 8, the tube 3 leading to a combustion chamber 4 and having a flange 5 containing orifices 6 so that recycled exhaust gas from the combustion chamber is added to the fuel before it enters the mixing tube 13 and the air pipe 8 leading in tangential relationship with the tube 3 so that air passing into the mixing tube describes a spiral path and causes exhaust gases to be sucked through the orifices 6.
