Abstract

1,143,530. Injection moulding soles on to uppers. DESMA-WERKE G.m.b.H. 20 March, 1967 [22 March, 1966; 18 April, 1966], No. 12909/67. Heading B5A. [Also in Division A3] In the injection moulding of a sole on to a shoe upper 14, a predetermined quantity of material is injected into a cavity 16 which, during injection, is larger than the finished sole, a bottom plunger 11 being in the position a, and after injection is terminated the cavity is reduced to the size of the finished sole by raising the plunger to the position b to complete the moulding operation. The raising of the plunger may be effected in two stages, the first at low and the second at high pressure. During upward movement of the plunger 11 the injection passage 12 is closed and the sprue cut off.
