Abstract

1,143,493. Gearing conveying rotary motion; linkwork. PRATT MFG. CORP. 12 May, 1967, No. 22139/67. Headings F2K and F2Q. [Also in Division D1] In an apparatus for feeding lengths of breakable material, feed rolls 48 are driven intermittently from a continuously rotating motordriven shaft 17 through toothed gearing 18 19, an adjustable crank 21 and connecting rod 26, a unidirectional clutch 32, a reverse locking clutch 37, and toothed gearing 45, 46. A oneway acting brake 53 is associated with a shaft 47 to prevent reverse rotation thereof in the event of imperfect action of clutch 32. The crank 21 comprises a block 25, slidable in a slot 23, and carrying a bolt 27 on which are mounted a bearing 28 and a flanged collar 29. Tightening of bolt 27 clamps the block 25 in its adjusted position.
