A cutting mill assembly, for reducing long lengths of plastics tube, having a horizontally mounted bladed rotor 3 cooperating with stationary blades 4 and in the housing of the mill, comprises a lateral feed inlet 2 connected to a horizontal feeding device 6. This comprises a revolving endless conveyor chain cooperating with spring-urged pressure rollers 10 and a holding pawl 11 to arrest to reverse movement of the tube during feed. The pawl 11 and an associated pair of rollers 10 are adjustable by threaded elements 12. The arrangement may also be such that the elements 12 adjust the rollers 10 without affecting the position of the pawls 11. A screen 5 is provided in the mill casing.
